Description

This medication is a topical antiseptic. It is used to provide antisepsis of skin lesions that are infected or at risk of infection.

Posology

How to use this medication The solution should not be applied to mucous membranes (mouth, vagina...) due to the presence of alcohol. The solution is ready to use and should not be rinsed.

Usual dosage:

1 application or 1 wet dressing or 1 local bath, 2 or 3 times a day. Our recommendations Simple washing with soap and water eliminates the majority of germs; it should be followed by careful rinsing because soap can inactivate some antiseptics. All antiseptics can be contaminated with germs: once opened, the bottle should not be stored for too long.

Counterindication

This medication should not be used:

- on mucous membranes,

- for antisepsis of the skin before a puncture,

- to disinfect medical-surgical equipment (see Caution).

Caution:

Avoid prolonged use of this medication, especially in children, on extensive or deeply injured surfaces without the advice of your physician: risk of passage of the medication into the bloodstream. This antiseptic is not suitable for disinfecting scissors, razors and other potentially contaminating objects. Similarly, it should not be used to disinfect the skin before a puncture.

.

Drug Interactions:

Combination with other antiseptics is not recommended because their effects may cancel each other out.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding

Ad hoc use of this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding does not appear to pose any particular problem.

Lactation:

This antiseptic should not be applied to the nipple without medical advice. Careful rinsing before feeding is essential.
