Description

Bloxang is a sterile absorbable gelatin sponge. Its microporous structure allows activation of coagulation. The sponge is characterized by a strong absorption capacity of blood and exudates. It has a neutral pH and has good tissue tolerance. In compress form, Bloxang disintegrates in 2 to 3 days. 4 cm x 1 cm x 1 cm, sterile packaging. 100 mg of Bloxang corresponds to 100 mg of gelatin (gelatin of porcine origin).

Bloxang is intended for local hemostatic treatment, to stop light to medium nosebleeds and in the treatment of superficial wounds.

Usage tips

Bloxang must be removed from its packaging under conditions that preserve its sterility. It is recommended to moisten Bloxang when the wound is dry and apply it dry to a damp wound. On the skin for small wounds Apply Bloxang either dry or moistened. Bloxang can be cut according to the dimensions and shape of the wound using sterilized scissors and fixed with a dressing. In the case of nosebleeds A Bloxang stick must be inserted into the nostril concerned. The stick can be shaped slightly to obtain a better introduction. To achieve a hemostatic effect Bloxang must be left in place until bleeding stops. On contact with an oozing wound, Bloxang forms a gel, which protects the wound and allows the dressing to be renewed without pain and while respecting the epithelium (surface layer of the skin). If the nosebleed persists after using a second Bloxang stick, consult a doctor.

Instructions

Application: Do not apply Bloxang to an infected wound or wounds with inflammatory exudates. Do not use Bloxang on surgical skin sutures as the healing process of the wound lips may be affected. In case of nosebleeds in infants and patients with impaired consciousness Bloxang should only be used after medical advice. No side effects are known to date. Do not apply if the packaging is damaged, as sterility is no longer guaranteed. Bloxang should not be re-sterilized or reused. Removing the packaging: First, detach a compress from the blister at the level of the perforations. Carefully remove the protective film by pulling on the tab marked with an arrow. The sterile gelatin sponge can then be removed while respecting the rules of asepsis.

Conservation

Store in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Bloxang should be used immediately after taking out of the package. Do not use beyond the date indicated
