This medicine contains an antifungal agent (active against fungi) of the imidazole family. This medicine is recommended for the treatment or adjunctive treatment of certain mycoses (skin disorders caused by fungi).
Candidiasis: treatment of macerated fold mycoses: genital intertrigo, submammary, interdigital, etc. In some cases, it is recommended to treat the digestive tract at the same time.
Dermatophytes: treatment: Macerated genital and crural intertrigo. Intertrigo of the toes.
Always use this medicine exactly as instructed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if in doubt.
For EXTERNAL USE ONLY: apply directly to the skin.
Follow the steps below carefully when applying:
1. Clean the affected area and its surroundings, then dry the skin well before applying.
2. Apply ECONAZOLE EG to and around the affected area twice a day.
- The active substance is :
Econazole nitrate............................................................................................................. 1.0 g
- The other ingredients are :
talc, colloidal anhydrous silica (AEROSIL 300), light zinc oxide.
Be careful with ECONAZOLE EG, powder for topical application in a powder vial:
- in children, - over a large area of skin,
- on damaged skin,
- in situations where the phenomenon of local occlusion may recur (e.g. elderly subjects, bedsores, submammary lesions).
In these cases, it is essential to follow the recommendations and dosage indicated in the leaflet, as the product penetrates the skin more easily.
- You must stop using this medicine if you develop an allergy (recognisable by redness, pimples, etc.) or irritation.
- Do not apply to the eye, nose or mucous membranes in general.
- Candidiasis: do not use soaps with an acidic pH (pH favours the multiplication of Candida).
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
In view of the limited but possible systemic transmission after topical application and the clinical experience, the use of ECONAZOLE EG 1, powder for topical application in a powder bottle is not recommended during pregnancy or when breast-feeding, without the advice of your doctor. Do not apply to the breasts while breast-feeding. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
