Therapeutic Indications: This drug contains vitamin B12. It has 2 distinctive uses.
It is treatment for vitamin B12 deficiency due to an absorption problem: Biermer’s disease, ablation of the stomach or part of the intestine, Imerslund’s disease, and in this case it should be administered intramuscularly.
It is indicated for the treatment of anaemia due to insufficient food intake of vitamin B12 in strict vegans for more than 4 years (diet without meat, dairy products, eggs or fish) and in this case it will be administered orally (vial- drinkable).
Contraindications: Do not take VITAMIN B12 injectable or drinkable solution in the following cases: - allergy to vitamin B12 or similar substances (cobalamines). - malignant tumour. Special warnings and side effects: Be careful when taking VITAMIN B12 injectable or drinkable solution: - this medication can only be taken when the body has a vitamin B12 deficiency. - during treatment blood tests will need to be carried out. - in case of megaloblastic anaemia, blood potassium (serum potassium) should be carefully monitored during the first two days of treatment.

Interaction with other drugs: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you take or have recently taken any other drug, including any non-prescription drugs. Pregnancy and breast feeding: This can be taken during pregnancy as well as during breast feeding.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any drugs. Dosage: Follow the advice given from your doctor. · Intramuscular injection for the treatment of vitamin B12 deficiency: *Attack treatment: one vial per day or 3 per week(10 per week) *Maintenance treatment: one vial for injection per month. · Orally in the treatment of anaemia due to insufficient dietary intake of vitamin B12 in strict vegans: pour the contents of the ampoule into a glass of water. *Attack treatment: 1 vial per day for 15 days-1 month. *Maintenance treatment: 1 vial every 10 days.

Side effects: Like all drugs VITAMINE B12 GERDA 1000ug/4ml solution can cause side effects (this will not affect everyone): -Allergic reactions: itching, eczema, urticaria, redness, oedema, fainting. Stop treatment and immediately consult your doctor. - Acne - Pain when injecting the solution - Red colour in your urine. If you notice side effects that are not mentioned here, or if certain side effects become more severe, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.
