Econazole EG L.P. 150 mg, sustained-release ovule is a medicine in the family of anti-infectives (treatment of infections) and antiseptics for gynaecological use.
This medicine is indicated for the local treatment of mycoses (conditions caused by microscopic fungi) of the vulva and vagina, which are sometimes superinfected.
In most cases, 1 ovule in the evening at bedtime, as a single administration. Insert the ovule deeply into the vagina, preferably lying down. The easiest way to do this is to lie on your back with your knees bent and apart. In some cases, your doctor may prescribe an egg in the evening and an egg the next morning.

- The other components are :
Galactomannan, colloidal anhydrous silica, solid hemisynthetic glycerides, stearyl enantate.
ECONAZOLE EG L.P. should only be administered vaginally. This medicine must not be swallowed.
- Local treatment of mycosis is only part of the overall treatment. To avoid relapses, it is essential that your doctor check for any factors that may be contributing to the problem.
- Do not use acidic soap for local hygiene (acidity encourages the proliferation of fungi).
This treatment can lead to local burning, irritation and increased itching. If symptoms persist for more than 24 to 48 hours, consult your doctor.
NEVER use ECONAZOLE EG L.P. in combination with a latex diaphragm or condom because of the risk of breakage. ECONAZOLE EG L.P. is not recommended in combination with spermicidal products (products used to destroy spermatozoa), as this could render these products inactive.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. This medicine should only be used during pregnancy on the advice of your doctor. If you discover that you are pregnant during treatment, consult your doctor, as only he/she can decide whether it is necessary to continue. Breast-feeding is possible during treatment with this medicine, but caution is advised.
