Description
Hexomedin 0.1% gel is an antiseptic for local application. It is recommended for the antisepsis of small superficial wounds. It is also a local treatment for certain superinfected skin conditions.
Directions for use
You can apply Hexomedin gel two to three times a day to your skin. Be careful when opening the tube, microbial contamination is possible. It is thus necessary to handle it in a hygienic way, to close it between two uses, and to deposit it on clean hands or on a compress before the application on the place to be treated.
Contraindications
Hexomedin 0.1% gel is contraindicated for antisepsis before sampling (puncture injection), during disinfection of medical-surgical equipment and in case of allergy to Hexamidine derivatives or on mucous membranes. Caution, you must not use this gel on a large surface, under an occlusive dressing, on burned skin, or on the skin of premature babies or infants. If you are taking other treatments at the same time or recently, even if they are non-prescription drugs, you must inform your doctor or pharmacist. The simultaneous or successive use of different antiseptics with this gel should be avoided. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, this medicine should be used with caution. You should read the instructions carefully before use or ask your pharmacist or doctor for advice.
Composition
The active ingredient is Hexamidine diistionate 0.100 g per 100 g of gel for local application. The other components are : Hydroxyethylcellulose, glacial acetic acid, alcohol and purified water.
