OneTouch Select Plus test strips are refill strips for use with OneTouch Select Plus series blood glucose meters. They allow people with diabetes to monitor their blood sugar levels at home. Diabetes is a chronic, self-controlling disease. It is characterized by glycemia, i.e. a blood sugar level that rises above normal values. There are 3 types of diabetes, often favored by a genetic predisposition

Usage tips

1. Introduce a reactive strip 2. Make the drop of blood appear using a lancing device and its lancet (needle) at the end of the finger (prefer the last 2 fingers of the hand: ring finger and little finger) 3. These test strips are for use only with the OneTouch Select Plus Blood Glucose Meter, so you can measure the amount of glucose in your blood on your own. This blood glucose meter tells you via a color system if you are above, below or within your glycemic target. The OneTouch Select Plus strips are very reactive, the blood is aspirated automatically by capillarity at the end of the strip. The confirmation window lets you know when enough blood has been drawn, and gives you a result in just 5 seconds.

Storage and handling

* Store the test strip vial in a cool, dry place at a temperature below 30°C. Keep out of direct sunlight and heat. Do not refrigerate. * Store test strips only in their original vial. Do not transfer them to another vial or container. *After removing a OneTouch Select Plus test strip from the vial, immediately replace the cap on the vial and close tightly. *Use each test strip immediately after removing it from the vial. * Write the discard date on the vial label when the vial is first opened. Discard unused OneTouch Select Plus test strips six months after opening the vial. * Avoid soiling the reactive area (upper part) in any way. * Do not use test strips beyond the expiration date printed on the package as you may get incorrect results. * Under no circumstances should a OneTouch Select Plus test strip be bent, cut or altered. * Blood glucose testing materials should be handled and disposed of in accordance with universally accepted blood product precautions. All materials and samples from patients and with which they come into contact must be considered biologically hazardous and, therefore, handled as products that can be a source of infection. When disposing of all such materials, take appropriate precautions in accordance with local regulations.
