Indication This medication is symptomatic treatment for constipation for adults. How to take this drug TRANSIPEG 2.95g powder must only be taken for a short amount of time. TRANSIPEG 2.95g works within 24-48 hours after taking it. Dosage Always respect the prescribed dosage by your doctor. IF IN DOUBT CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST. 1-4 sachets per day day all taken in the morning. The average daily dose is 2 sachets per day. Frequency of dose Not applicable. Composition Active ingredient: macrogol 3350 (2.95g per sachet). Other ingredients are: sodium chloride, anhydrous sodium sulphate (E514), potassium chloride (E508), sodium bicarbonate (E500), aspartame (E951), potassium acesulfame, lemon flavouring. The lemon flavouring contains: maltodextrin, saccharose, lemon flavouring, gum Arabic (E414), lecithin (E322) and silicum dioxide (E551). Format This medication is a box of 30 sachets. Precautions for use Special warnings: Be careful when using TRANSIPEG 2.95 g power sachets: If you are using this for the first time and you do not see any improvement after 2 days, consult your doctor. TRANSIPEG 2.95 g, powder sachet: Occasional constipation: It can be linked to a recent change in life (for example travelling). This is short-term help. Inform of your doctor if constipation from an unexplained change in lifestyle with pain, fever, swelling of the stomach appears. Chronic constipation (long-term): Can be linked to two causes: - intestine illness Your doctor will prescribe you a specific medication for this; - an imbalance in the function of the intestine due to food habits and lifestyle. Treatment should also be alongside: - an increase in vegetable foods (green vegetables, crudities, bread, fruit...). - an increase in water and fruit juice consumption. - an increase in physical activity (sport, walking...). - defecation reflex. - sometimes an addition to food. Seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist if there is no improvement. Specific precautions Not applicable. Contraindications Do not take TRANSIPEG 2.95 g, powder sachet to drink: - If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active ingredient or one of its components contained in TRANSIPEG 2.95 g powder sachet. - certain intestine or colon illnesses - if you have a perforation or at risk of one - abdominal pain (stomach pain). - if you have a hereditary disease called phenylketonuria because TRANSIPEG 2.95 g, powder for oral solution contains aspartame (see also "Important information about some of the ingredients of TRANSIPEG 2.95 g, powder for oral solution in sachet "). If in doubt, it is advisable to consult your doctor or pharmacist. Pregnancy and breast feeding Pregnancy: This can be used during pregnancy after medical consent. If you discover that you’re pregnant during the treatment, consult your doctor who is the only person who can judge whether the drug should be continued.
