Product Indication This medicine can be used to: – treat calcium deficiency, particularly during growth, pregnancy and breast-feeding; and – supplement treat of osteoporosis in the elderly, menopausal women, those taking corticosteroids and those using limb braces pending return to full mobility. Directions for Use To be taken orally. Dissolve tablet in a large glass of water. Drink solution immediately. DosageChildren: Children 6 to 10 years: 1 tablet per day. Children 10 years and over: 2 tablets per day. Adults: 2 tablets per day. Or use as prescribed by your doctor. Ingredients Active Ingredient:Per tablet: Calcium carbonate: 1250 mg – of which calcium: 500 mg Other Ingredients: Citric acid, sodium cyclamate, sodium saccharin, orange flavour, Sunset Yellow FCF (colour) Warnings and Precautions for Use Use with caution if taking over a prolonged period or in combination with vitamin D, or if you have poor kidney function. The level of calcium in your blood and urine will need careful monitoring. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Contra-indications Do NOT use if: – you are allergic to any of the ingredients; – you are hypercalcaemic (i.e. you have an abnormally high blood-calcium level); – you have hypercalciuria (i.e. the calcium levels in your urine are too high); – you have kidney stones; or – you are using limb immobilisation devices and have hypercalcaemia or hypercalciuria (do not take this medicine until you have regained mobility). If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Pregnancy and Breast-Feeding– This medicine can safely be prescribed for women who are pregnant or breast-feeding. – If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using any form of medicine.
