How to take Ultra Levure How to use Orally. Swallow capsules with a glass of water. The freeze-drying of the active substance guarantees the stability and vitality of Saccharomyces boulardii. Dosage Suitable for adults and, children over the age of 2 years old. 1 tablet per day. Composition of the drug Saccharomyces boulardii* : 200 mg *yeast cells. Other ingredients: lactose, magnesium stearate. Composition of the coating: Body: gelatine, titanium dioxide (E171) Top: gelatine, titanium dioxide (E171), red iron oxide (E172), indigotine (E132) Precautions for use Cautions: This drug is not recommended for patients with a galactose intolerance, a Lapp lactose intolerance or glucose-galactose malabsorption (rare hereditary illnesses). · This drug contains fructose. This drug is not recommended for patients with a sugar intolerance (rare hereditary illness). It is recommended to not open the packet near those that wear a central venous catheter to avoid any contamination. Indeed, very rare cases of fungemia (passage of the yeast in the blood) have been reported in patients carrying a central venous catheter, even if not treated with S. boulardii, most often resulting in fever and positive blood cultures at Saccharomyces. For children aged 2-6 years, immediately consult your doctor in the following cases: *In case of diarrhoea (more than 6 liquid faeces per day in 24 hours with weight loss); your doctor will prescribe you with an oral rehydration solution. *If fever or vomiting appears. *If there is blood or phlegm in the faeces. For children over 6 years and adults, immediately consult your doctor in the following cases: *If no improvement after 2 days of treatment. *If fever or vomiting appears. *If there is blood or phlegm in the faeces. *Intense thirst, dry tongue. These are signs of dehydration; the loss of liquid from diarrhoea. Your doctor will prescribe you with an oral rehydration solution. Precautions for use For infants and children under 6 years of age, it is imperative that you follow the directions for use and how to reconstitute the oral rehydration solution as prescribed by your doctor and follow the advice on diet . The removal of milk and milk products will be discussed with the doctor. Children over 6 years of age and adults, this treatment is a complement to the dietary rules: - rehydrate yourself with sweet or savoury drinks to compensate for the loss of liquid from having diarrhoea (daily amount for adults is 2 litres). - eat even if you have diarrhoea. *avoid certain types of foods such as crudities, fruit, green vegetables, spicy dishes as well as cold drinks and food. *Eat grilled meat and rice instead. Contraindications Do not take ULTRA LEVURE capsulet: · you are allergic to one of its components, · if you wear a central venous catheter.
