Indication

Symptomatic treatment of non-organic colopathies: diarrhea, constipation, meteorism.

Poly Karaya has a protective action on the intestinal mucosa thanks to its covering power and by the fixation of microbial toxins: adsorbs intestinal gas and therefore reduces abdominal meteorism, has a hygroscopic and swelling power. Karaya gum has a very important hydrophilic power: it is able to fix 96 times its weight in water. It increases the volume of the fecal bowl and regulates intestinal transit by allowing physiological progression of stool

How to take this medicine

Oral route. 3 sachets per day, to swallow without chewing with a little water, at the start of meals.

Composition

The active substance is: Karaya gum ............................ 4 g Polyvinylpolypyrrolidone ............ . 2 g

For a sachet of 10 g.

The other ingredients are: Shellac, sucrose, gelatin, gum arabic, talc, titanium oxide (E 171), compound flavor powder n ° 27864.

Conditioning

This medication is in the form of granules for oral solution in a sachet-dose. Box of 30 sachets.

Precautions for use

Due to the presence of sucrose, this drug is contraindicated in cases of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency. This medicinal product contains 3.550 g of sucrose per sachet (maximum daily amount of 10.65 g); take it into account in the daily ration, in particular in diabetic subjects. In the event of megacolon, POLY-KARAYA containing sterculia gum (karaya gum), should be used with caution (risk of paresis due to impaired colonic motility). This precaution for use concerns other gums and mucilages.

Contraindications

Stenosing disorders of the digestive tract.

Possible side effects
