Therapeutic Indications: This ophthalmic gel is symptomatic treatment for dry eyes. Contraindications: Do not use LACRIRNOM 0.2% ophthalmic gel in the following case: Allergy to one of the components. IF IN DOUBT IT IS ADVISABLE TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST FOR ADVICE. Cautions: Do not inject, do not swallow. Wait 15 minutes in between eye drop treatments. Do not touch the eyes with the nozzle of the tube. Close the tube after use. Due to the benzalkonium content, this drug can cause irritation in the eyes. Avoid contact with contact lenses. Take the contact lenses out before application and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in. The benzalkonium chloride can discolour the soft contact lenses. Precautions for use: If symptoms persist, your treatment will need to be re-evaluated. Avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment due to the risk linked with the benzalkonium chloride content. Interaction with other drugs: TO AVOID INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER DRUGS YOU MUST CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST IF GOING THROUGH OTHER TREATMENT. Pregnancy and breast feeding: Given the data available, pregnant and breast-feeding women can use these eye drops. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any drugs. Driving and use of machinery: A brief blurred vision after use until the gel has covered the surface of the eye. Dosage: 1 drop, 3-4 times per day or more if symptoms are severer. How to use: Local use. EYE USE. Wash hands well before use. Drop the ophthalmic gel into the eye whilst looking up and gently pulling down the lower eyelid. Do not touch the eye with the nozzle of the tube. Close the tube after use. Frequency of dose: Spread out doses throughout the day. Length of treatment: If symptoms persist or worsen, consult an ophthalmologist. Symptoms and instructions in case of overdose: Rinse with a sterile physiological serum. Side effects: Like all drugs LACRINORM 0.2% ophthalmic gel can cause side effects (this will not affect everyone). Possibility of: - difficulties with vision, - temporary burning feeling after using until the gel has covered the surface of the eye, - feeling of eyelids sticking together, - irritation reactions, - due to the benzalkonium content, risk of eczema, irritation and respiratory pain.
