Description

The quality of Madagascar Black Pepper is particularly appreciated by gourmets and perfumers. The green or red berries, which turn yellow as they ripen, are harvested and destemmed by hand, then dried in the sun on tablecloths for 3 to 7 days.

This pale yellow essential oil has very spicy, woody, very subtly peppery notes. Black Pepper Essential Oil is obtained through the steam distillation of its fruits, which have previously been dried and crushed.

It is necessary to take into account the difference between the extract and the essential oil of Black Pepper, because the latter does not contain spicy piperine. It is composed of approximately 45.5% monoterpene hydrocarbons (including α and β-pinenes and Limonene) and approximately 21.5% sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (including β-caryophyllene).
