Description
Spearmint is the oldest of the mints, used by Greco-Roman civilisations as a digestive and medicinal plant. Hippocrates prescribed it to soothe stomach upsets. Originally from India, Spearmint is harvested by hand.
For optimum growth and quality, spearmint is planted in countries with a warm climate of around 30°C. Also known as sweet mint or Mentha spicata L. in Latin, organic cultivation of this plant is complex because of three groups of fearsome pests: caterpillars, aphids and insects.
