Puressentiel organic peppermint essential oil has a very pungent smell due to the presence of menthol. This small perennial plant is cultivated all over the world, especially in India, Morocco, Europe and North America. The United States is the first essential oil producing country. Main indications
Digestive problems: slow digestion, indigestion, acid reflux, gas, nausea, vomiting, travel sickness, bad breath. All pain - tendonitis, sciatica, rheumatisms, headaches, neuralgia
How to use
Digestive problems: Swallow 1-2 pure drops on a sugar cube or in a teaspoon of honey, after dinner or when necessary. You can also mix 20 drops of peppermint essential oil + 5 drops of lemon essential oil + 5 drops of tropical basil essential oil: Take 2 drops of this mixture on a neutral tablet, 3 times per day for 5-7 days. Apply 3 drops of mint mixed with 10 drops of calendula oil and massage onto the stomach after each meal.
Pains: Apply 3 drops of mint mixed with 10 drops of vegetable oil (preferably arnica) 3 times per day onto the painful area.
Stretch marks: (Urticaria, eczema, chickenpox, overheating due to skin contact maceration or hot & cold alternations) Apply 3 drops of mint mixed with 10 drops of vegetable oil (preferably St John’s Wort) 3 times per day onto the painful area. Note: 1 ml = 32 drops.
In case of shingles or herpes: Apply 1-2 drops along the effected nerve.
In case of a migraine: Apply 1-2 pure drops on the temples, 1-2 times per day.
Tiredness in the car: put 2 drops of the essential oil in a diffuser in the car to avoid tiredness. Or put 1 drop between the eyebrows for an immediate “wake-up” effect.
Other uses
Excellent for fragrancing an orange salad or chocolate ice-cream! 1 drop per portion/per person.
Contraindication
Never take a bath with the peppermint essential oil in its pure state. Always mix it with vegetable oil. Even for the skin, always mix the mint oil with enough vegetable oil. Otherwise there is the risk of skin irritations. Not recommended for pregnant or breast feeding women or children under 7 years of age. It is also not recommended for individuals who are epileptic and should be used with precaution for elderly individuals.
