Tart, fresh and floral, the smell of bitter orange petitgrain essential oil is recognizable by its citrus scent... Originally from Asia, bitter orange was introduced to Spain by the Arabs in the 9th century, where it took the name of "orange tree of Seville", even if its fruits (bigarades) are unsuitable for consumption. Today it is cultivated in many countries, including India, China and Paraguay.

Olfactory atmosphere: alone or in a mixture, by evaporation under gentle controlled heat
Atmospheric diffusion: alone or mixed in a diffuser by nebulization
Cutaneous route: in dilution, 5 to 30% in vegetable oil
Oral route: diluted in a little edible oil, on medical or pharmacy advice. In general 1 drop 2 to 3 times a day Dry
inhalation: 1 to 2 drops on a handkerchief
Facial sauna: 1 to 2 drops in a bowl of boiling water
How to use
Nervous imbalance: Apply some pure drops along the spine and under the arch of the foot and solar plexus. Put 1 drop on the inside of each wrist and inhale deeply. Bath: Pour 10 drops of bitter orange diluted in 1 teaspoon of base for a bath or milk. Bathe for 20 minutes in a hot bath (at least 37°C) before going to bed. Diffuse 40 drops of bitter orange during the day or evening using a diffuser when necessary.
Skin problems and skin treatment (acne, eczema, bedsores, boils, cuts, blemishes...): Apply 2-3 pure drops onto the infected area.
Other uses : This essential oil is suitable for children as it calms and helps them have a better nights’ sleep.
Contraindication
Like all essential oils the marjoram essential oil is not allowed during the first 3 months of pregnancy. It is also not to be used during breast feeding.
