Product Indication Antiseptic treatment of minor complaints of the eyes and surrounding features. This medicine is a local anaesthetic for ophthalmological use only. Ingredients Cethexonium bromide: 0.1 g per single dose Directions for Use and Dosage For ocular instillation (i.e. squeezing drops into the eye). Rolling the eyes upwards, gently pull down the lower eyelid and apply 1 drop to the lower conjunctival fornix. Apply 3 to 4 times a day for 1 week. Contra-indications Do NOT use if you are allergic to Cethexonium or other quaternary ammonium salts. Warnings and Precautions for Use – If you experience an allergic reaction, discontinue use immediately. – Do not use for more than 15 days. Excessive or prolonged use can affect the conjunctival or corneal epithelium. Use with caution if you have defects in these areas. – Not suitable for contact lens wearers (contains an quaternary ammonium salt, which can be absorbed by hydrophilic or "soft" contact lenses and decrease ocular tolerance for the drops). – If using with another eyewash containing a different active ingredient, leave 15 minutes between applications. – Dispose of empty vial immediately after use. Do not re-use. – Be careful not to scratch the eye with any part of the vial. Interactions with Other Medicines and Other Substances Do not mix antiseptics. Pregnancy and Breast-Feeding Clinical data currently available indicates that this product can safely be used by women who are pregnant or breast-feeding. Driving and Operating Machinery Use with caution. Your vision may be clouded slightly after use. Do not drive or operate machinery until your sight has returned to normal.
