Therapeutic Indications This medication changes the bronchial secretions. It is recommended in cases of recent respiratory disorders with difficulty in coughing (difficulties spitting the bronchial secretions out) for children and infants. Contraindications Do not take PASSEDYL FOR CHILDREN AND BABIES syrup in the following cases: - previous history of an allergy to one of its components (notably sodium benzoate, methyl parahydroxybenzoate). IF IN DOUBT IT IS ADVISABLE TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST FOR ADVICE. Cautions ATTENTION: Warning: the alcoholic strength of this medication is 3.8 % (150 mg of alcohol for every teaspoon of medicine). Medical advice is necessary: - if loose or infected cough, - if the child has a chronic bronchus or lung illness. It is recommended not to take medication that is an antitussive or that dries out the bronchial secretions at the same time as this treatment of this medication. Precautions for use In the case of developing a stomach or duodenum ulcer, inform your doctor. For diabetics or those on a hypoglucidic diet (low sugar), be aware of the saccharose content (3.1g per teaspoon): IF IN DOUBT DO NOT HESITATE TO CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST FOR ADVICE. Interaction with other drugs Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you take or have recently taken any other drug, including any non-prescription drugs. Pregnancy and breast feeding Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any drugs. Dosage For babies and children under 5 years of age: 1 teaspoon per day, 2-3 times per day. For children over 5 years of age: 1 teaspoon per day, 3-5 times per day. How to use Orally. Length of treatment The length of treatment should only be a few days.
