Ibuprofen 200 mg EG - 30 Tablets

Description

This medicine contains a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug: ibuprofen. It is indicated for adults and children weighing more than 20 kg (approximately 6 years) for the short-term treatment of fever and/or pain such as headaches, flu-like symptoms, toothache, aches and painful periods.

How to take this medicine

Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are in any doubt. To reduce symptoms, the lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest possible time. If you have an infection and symptoms (such as fever and pain) persist or worsen, consult a doctor immediately. The occurrence of adverse reactions can be minimised by using the lowest possible dose for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms.

Dosage and frequency of administration

SUITABLE FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN FROM 20 KG (approximately 6 years of age).

In children, the usual dosage is 20 to 30 mg/kg/day in 3 doses per day (not to exceed 30 mg/kg/day). In children weighing between 20 and 30 kg (approximately 6 to 11 years): 1 tablet (200 mg), repeated if necessary after 6 hours. In all cases, do not exceed 3 tablets a day (600 mg).

Adults and children weighing over 30 kg (approx. 11-12 years): 1 to 2 tablets (200 mg to 400 mg), repeated if necessary after 6 hours. In all cases, do not exceed 6 tablets a day (1200 mg).

Elderly patients are at greater risk of adverse reactions, so use the lowest possible dose for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms.

Do not exceed the recommended doses or duration of treatment (3 days for fever, 5 days for pain).

The maximum dose is 6 tablets a day (1200 mg).
