How to take this drug Local use. Massage the gel softly into the painful and inflamed area. Wash hands after each application. Maximum 5- day treatment without medical prescription. Dosage and frequency of dose The daily dose is 1 application 3 times a day. Local use. Composition Active Ingredient: Ibuprofen........................................................................................................................................ 5.00 g Per 100g. Other ingredients are: hydroxyethylcellulose, sodium hydroxide, benzylic acid, isopropylic alcohol, purified water. Format This drug is in a gel form for local application in a 50g tube. Precautions of use and warning Be careful when using ANTARENE 5% gel: - do not apply onto mucous membranes or in the eyes, - treatment must be stopped immediately if a skin reaction occurs. - wearing gloves is recommended if it is going to be used by a health professional. Respect instructions of use: · Never apply a higher dose than the dose recommended (see dosage), · Do not apply the gel on large areas of your body, · respect the quantity and length of treatment advised by your doctor. Contraindications Do not use ANTARENE 5 % gel in the following cases: · from the 6th month of pregnancy · history of allergy from this drug or from others including non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin. · if you are allergic to one of its components. · on damaged skin: weeping skin, eczema, infected skin, burns or wounds. Interactions with other drugs Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you take or have recently taken any other drug, including any non-prescription drugs. Pregnancy and breast feeding Pregnancy Pregnancy This drug can only be used during the first 5 months of pregnancy following advice from your doctor. FROM THE 6TH MONTH OF PREGNNANCY YOU MUST NOT TAKE THIS DRUG. Although the risk of this drug passing into the blood is weak it cannot be excluded. There can be serious harms to children even when taken only once; cardiopulmonary and renal problems. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any drugs. Breast feeding: The NSAIDS pass into human milk. For precautionary measures it is advisable to avoid using this gel during breast feeding. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any drugs. Side effects Exceptional cases of allergic reactions such as: - skin - respiratory (asthma) - general. In all cases treatment should be stopped immediately. The following can also occur: - local skin reactions (redness, itching), - other general effects of anti-inflammatory drugs depending on the quantity applied, the surface treated and the length of treatment. Symptoms and instructions in case of overdose Rinse thoroughly with water. Storage conditions No specific storage precautions.
