History and origin
The name Aventurine comes from the Italian "avventura" meaning "adventure" or "by chance", because of its resemblance to aventurine glass, which was discovered by chance in the 18th century by an Italian manufacturer in Murano. Brazil and India have the largest known Aventurine mines.
