Therapeutic Indications: This is a mouthwash. Local treatment for mouth infections or post-surgical care. Contraindications: Do not use PREXIDINE 0.12% mouthwash solution in the following case: - allergic to chlorhexidine IF IN DOUBT IT IS ADVISABLE TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST FOR ADVICE. Cautions: KEEP OUT OF REACH FROM CHILDREN. Prolonged use of this mouthwash is not recommended as it can change the natural microbial balance in the mouth and throat. If there is no improvement after 5 days or if symptoms worsen: CONSULT YOUR DENTIST. Precautions for use: - avoid contact with eyes - do put the product in the nose or ears - DO NOT SWALLOW. IF IN DOUBT DO NOT HESITATE TO CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST FOR ADVICE. Interaction with other drugs: Do not use several drugs containing anti-septics at the same time. TO AVOID INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER DRUGS YOU MUST CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST IF GOING THROUGH OTHER TREATMENT. Pregnancy and breast feeding: This drug should be used with precaution during pregnancy and breast feeding. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any drugs. Driving and use of machinery: PREXIDINE dos not have an effect on your ability to drive or use machinery. Dosage: Suitable for adults and, children over the age of 6 years old. For each mouthwash, use the measuring cup by filling it up to the line (15ml). Or use a tablespoon (15ml). How to use: Local use, mouthwash. DO NOT SWALLOW. This solution must be used in its pure state, not diluted. Use the mouthwash after brushing your teeth and rinsing. Frequency of dose: 1-3 times per day. Length of treatment: Do not continue with treatment after 5 days without a medical consultation. Symptoms and instructions in case of overdose: In normal conditions there is no risk of an overdose. If you accidentally swallow the mouthwash you might get stomach or oesophagus pain. In any case consult your doctor or dentist. If children swallow any of the mouthwash accidentally, consult your doctor due to the alcohol content. In addition, this drug contains terpene derivatives, which can lower the epileptogenic threshold and lead to excessive doses if PREXIDINE is accidentally swallowed, neurological accidents in the child (seizure type) and elderly (agitation and confusion). Comply with the doses and length of treatment. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with water and consult your doctor. Side effects: Like all drugs PREXIDINE 0.12% solution can cause side effects (this will not affect everyone). - brown colouring on the teeth and tongue especially for patients who drink tea and coffee; disappears after treatment - allergic reactions: irritations, skin reactions, swelling of the saliva glands If any of these symptoms appear, stop treatment and consult your doctor. - change in taste and burning feeling on the tongue at the beginning of treatment If you notice side effects that are not mentioned here, or if certain side effects become more severe, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.
