Therapeutic indications 

This medicine is indicated as a short-term local treatment in adults (from 15 years of age), in cases of benign traumatology, sprains, contusions.

Contraindications 

Never use VOLTARENACTIGO 1 PER CENT, gel in the following cases: - from the 25th week of amenorrhea (beginning of the 6th month of pregnancy). - in case of allergy to this medicine or to a related medicine, in particular other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin; - in case of allergy to one of the excipients; - on injured skin, whatever the lesion: oozing lesions, eczema, infected lesion, burn or wound. IN CASE OF DOUBT, IT IS ESSENTIAL TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST FOR ADVICE.

Warnings and precautions for use 

Special warnings: Do not apply to mucous membranes or the eyes, only to the painful area. If a rash appears after application, treatment must be stopped immediately. Precautions for use: This medicine must not be used under an occlusive dressing. IF NO IMPROVEMENT after 4 days of treatment, CONSULT your PHYSICIAN.

Drug Interactions 

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. This medicine contains Diclofenac. Other medicines contain diclofenac, particularly certain oral medicines. Do not combine them, so as not to exceed the maximum recommended doses.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding 

Pregnancy: Up to the 24th week of amenorrhea (5 months of pregnancy), your doctor may prescribe this medicine on an occasional basis if necessary. From the 25th week of amenorrhoea (beginning of the 6th month of pregnancy), you must NEVER take this medicine YOURSELF, as its effects on your child may have serious consequences, particularly in terms of cardio-pulmonary and renal health, even with a single dose. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine. Breastfeeding: This medicine passes into breast milk. As a precautionary measure, it should not be used during breastfeeding. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.

Dosage 

1 application, 3 times a day. The duration of treatment is limited to 4 days

Mode and route of administration 

Local use. EXTERNAL USE Massage the gel into the painful or inflammatory area for a long time. Wash hands thoroughly after each use.

Instructions in case of overdose 

In case of overdose, rinse with plenty of water and apply symptomatic treatment if necessary.

Possible side effects 

Like all medicines, VOLTARENACTIGO 1 PER CENT, gel is likely to have side effects, although not everyone is susceptible. Exceptionally, reactions which may be severe may occur: - allergic skin reactions: rash (pimples), hives, bullae, - breathing problems such as an asthma attack (short noisy breath, impression of reduced breathing capacity), - general anaphylaxis-like manifestations (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat). Treatment should be stopped immediately and your doctor or pharmacist should be informed. More frequently, undesirable effects may occur, which are generally mild and temporary: - local skin effects such as redness, itching, skin irritation, erosion or local ulceration, - very exceptionally, an increase in sensitivity to the sun, - other general effects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, depending on the amount of gel applied, the surface treated and its condition, the duration of treatment and whether or not a closed bandage is used. Your doctor or pharmacist should be informed. If you notice any side effects not mentioned in this leaflet, or if any side effects become serious, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition 

The active substance is: Diethylamine diclofenac ................................................................................................................. 1.16 g Quantity corresponding to diclofenac sodium ........................................................................................ 1.00 g per 100 g of gel. Other components are: Diethylamine, Carbomer 974P, cetomacrogol 1000, caprylic and capric acid ester with C12 to C18 fatty alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, cream fragrance 45, propylene glycol, purified water.
