1. WHAT IS CHONDROSULF 1200 mg SUGAR-FREE, xylitol-sweetened oral gel AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
Pharmacotherapeutic class - ATC code: M09AX02 Anti-arthritic (M: locomotor system) This medicine contains chondroitin sulphate. It is recommended for adults (over 15 years) in the treatment of pain and functional discomfort during osteoarthritis of the knee and hip. This medication has a slow onset of action, delayed by about 2 months, and its effect may persist after treatment has been stopped.
2. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE TAKING CHONDROSULF 1200 mg SUGAR-FREE, oral gel sweetened with xylitol
Never take CHONDROSULF 1200 mg SUGAR-FREE, xylitol-sweetened oral gel: - if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or to any of the other ingredients contained in this medicine, as mentioned in section 6. - children under 15 years of age. Warnings and precautions This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or when breast-feeding (see section "Pregnancy and breast-feeding"). Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking CHONDROSULF 1200 mg SUGAR-FREE, oral gel sweetened with xylitol. Children and adolescents Contraindicated in children under 15 years of age Other medicines and CHONDROSULF 1200 mg SUGAR-FREE, xylitol-sweetened oral gel Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or may take any other medicines. Pregnancy and breastfeeding
The use of this medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breast-feeding, unless otherwise advised by your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. 3. HOW TO TAKE CHONDROSULF 1200 mg SUGAR-FREE, xylitol-sweetened oral gel?
Always take this medicine exactly as instructed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is 1 sachet (1200 mg) taken once a day. The contents of the sachet may be swallowed as it is or diluted in half a glass of water, preferably with a meal. Duration of treatment The duration of treatment will be adjusted according to the clinical results, bearing in mind that the effect is delayed by approximately 2 months and may persist after treatment has been discontinued. Use in children and adolescents This medicine is intended for adults (over 15 years of age). If you have taken more CHONDROSULF 1200 mg SUGAR-FREE, xylitol-sweetened oral gel than you should have, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately. If you forget to take CHONDROSULF 1200 mg SUGAR-FREE, xylitol-sweetened oral gel Not applicable. If you stop taking CHONDROSULF 1200 mg SUGAR-FREE, xylitol-sweetened oral gel Not applicable.
4. WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
Like all medicines, this medicine may cause adverse reactions, but they do not occur systematically in everyone. Allergic skin reactions such as redness, hives, eczema, rash, whether or not associated with itching and/or oedema may occur. During treatment, digestive disorders such as nausea, vomiting and dizziness may also occur. Reporting side effects If you experience any side effects, please tell your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to any side effects not mentioned in this leaflet. 5. HOW TO USE CHONDROSULF 1200 mg SUGAR-FREE, oral gel sweetened with xylitol
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date indicated on the box. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. No special storage precautions. Do not dispose of any medicine down the drain or in the household waste. Ask your pharmacist to dispose of medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
