Indications
EFFERALGAN 1000 mg, granules in sachets is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of mild and moderate pain and / or fever.
Dosage
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if in doubt. The recommended daily dose of paracetamol is 3000 milligrams (mg) per day, or 3 sachets. However, in case of more intense pain, the maximum dosage can be increased up to 4000 mg per day, or 4 sachets per day. EFFERALGAN 1000 mg IS FOR USE ONLY FOR ADULTS AND ADOLESCENTS weighing 50 kg or more (over 12 years of age).
Oral use only. Please take the granules directly into the mouth, on the tongue, and then swallow them without water. If the pain persists for more than 5 days or if the fever persists for more than 3 days, do not continue treatment without consulting your doctor.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The following side effects may occur:
Rare: may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people
Anemia, non-hemolytic anemia
Bone marrow aplasia, a disease caused by decreased production of blood cells, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia and neutropenia (decrease in the number of certain blood cells)
Edema (abnormal accumulation of fluid in the body)
Acute and chronic pancreatitis
Haemorrhage (loss of blood), abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, liver failure, hepatic necrosis, jaundice
Pruritus, rash, sweating, purpura (appearance of red or purple spots on the skin), angioedema (rapid swelling of different layers of the skin), hives (rash characterized by the appearance of pale red and sore swelling) 'accompanying itching)
- Nephropathies and tubular disorders (kidney disease).
