Indications
It is used to treat pain and / or fever, such as headache, flu-like illness, toothache, body aches.
This presentation is reserved for children from 3 to 26 kg (approximately from birth to 9 years). Carefully read the “Dosage” section.

The dosage of paracetamol depends on the weight of the child. The ages are mentioned for information.
If you do not know the child's weight, it should be weighed to give the best dose.
Paracetamol is available in many strengths, allowing treatment to be tailored to the weight of each child.
The recommended daily dose of paracetamol is approximately 60 mg / kg / day.
This presentation is suitable for administration in 4 divided doses, i.e. approximately 15 mg / kg every 6 hours or 10 mg / kg every 4 hours.
The syringe for oral administration, graduated per half kilogram, delivers 15 mg / kg / dose. The dose to be administered for one intake is therefore obtained by pulling the plunger to the graduation corresponding to the weight of the child. This dose can be renewed if necessary after 6 hours, without exceeding 4 doses per day.
Composition
The active substance is:

The other ingredients are:
Malic acid, xanthan gum, liquid maltitol (LYCASIN), 70 percent crystallizable sorbitol, sorbitol, anhydrous citric acid, ethyl, methyl propyl hydroxybenzoate (NIPASEPT), strawberry flavor *, purified water (see section 2, “2.4 PERCENT SUGAR-FREE DOLIPRANE contains”).
* Strawberry flavor composition: ethyl butyrate, cis 3 hexanyl, cis 7 hexenol, propylene glycol, benzyl alcohol, decalactone, vanillin.
Precautions for use
Do not take other medicines containing paracetamol. You risk an overdose.
Do not combine this medication with sulfosodium catioresin (active substance used in hyperkalaemia, excess potassium in the blood): the combination may lead to a risk of colonic necrosis which can be fatal.
If your child is taking oral anticoagulant treatment (with warfarin or vitamin K anti-vitamin (AVK)), taking DOLIPRANE 2.4 PERCENT WITHOUT SUGAR at maximum doses for more than 4 days requires reinforced monitoring of laboratory tests including in particular the INR. In this case, consult your doctor.
The effectiveness of paracetamol may be reduced if you take chelating resins at the same time - medicine which lowers the level of cholesterol in the blood (allow an interval of more than 2 hours between the 2 doses).
If your child is receiving treatment with flucloxacillin (an antibiotic) at the same time as paracetamol, he or she may have metabolic acidosis (too acidic blood causing an increased respiratory rate).
The toxicity of paracetamol may be increased if your child takes:
Medicines potentially toxic to the liver
Medicines which promote the production of the toxic metabolite of paracetamol such as anti-epileptic medicines (phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazepine, topiramate),
Rifampicin (an antibiotic)
· At the same time as alcohol.

The consumption of alcoholic beverages during treatment is not recommended.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Pregnancy and breast feeding
If needed, this medicine can be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Use the lowest dose that will reduce your pain and / or fever, for as short a time as possible and as infrequently as possible. Contact your doctor or midwife if the pain and / or fever does not improve or if you need to take this medicine more frequently during your pregnancy.
Fertility
It is possible that paracetamol can alter the fertility of women, reversibly on discontinuation of treatment.
