Therapeutic indications
This medication is indicated for pain and / or fever such as headaches, flu-like symptoms, toothache, muscle stiffness, painful periods. This presentation is reserved for adults and children from 27 kg (ie from about 8 years old); Carefully read the “Dosage” section. For children weighing less than 27 kg, there are other presentations of paracetamol: ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Contraindications
Do not take DOLIPRANETABS 500 mg film-coated tablet in the following cases: - if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to paracetamol or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine, mentioned in section 6, - if you have a serious illness liver, · to treat a child under 6 years old, as he or she can swallow askew and choke. Special warnings

Precautions for use

Drugs interactions
Tell them that you or your child are taking this medicine if your doctor prescribes a test for uric acid or blood sugar. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you or your child have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Pregnancy and breast feeding
Paracetamol, under normal conditions of use, can be used during pregnancy as well as during breast-feeding. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Dosage
This presentation is reserved for adults and children from 27 kg (from approximately 8 years old). In children: The dosage of paracetamol depends on the weight of the child; ages are given for information. If you do not know the child's weight, it should be weighed to give the best dose. Paracetamol exists in many dosages, allowing the treatment to be adapted to the weight of each child. The recommended daily dose of paracetamol depends on the weight of the child: it is approximately 60 mg / kg per day, to be divided into 4 or 6 doses, i.e. approximately 15 mg / kg every 6 hours or 10 mg / kg every day. every 4 hours. The usual dosage is: For children weighing 27 to 40 kg (approximately 8 to 13 years old), the dosage is 1 tablet of 500 mg per dose, to be renewed if necessary after 6 hours, without exceeding 4 tablets per day. For children weighing 41 to 50 kg (approximately 12 to 15 years), the dosage is 1 tablet of 500 mg per dose, to be renewed if necessary after 4 hours, without exceeding 6 tablets per day. For adults and children weighing more than 50 kg (from about 15 years old): The usual dosage is 1 or 2 tablets of 500 mg per dose (depending on the intensity of the pain), to be repeated if necessary after 4 hours minimum. It is generally not necessary to exceed 3 g of paracetamol per day, or 6 tablets per day.
Frequency of administration
Regular doses prevent the pain or fever from returning: "see section Dosage". In children, the catches should be regularly spaced, including at night, preferably 6 hours, and at least 4 hours. In adults, catches should be spaced at least 4 hours apart. In the event of severe kidney disease (severe kidney failure), you should wait at least 8 hours between each dose. If you have the impression that the effect of DOLIPRANETABS 500 mg film-coated tablet is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Duration of treatment
Unless medical advice is given, the duration of treatment is limited: · to 5 days in the event of pain, · to 3 days in the event of fever. If the pain persists for more than 5 days or the fever for more than 3 days, if it gets worse, do not continue treatment without your doctor's advice.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. In rare cases, a rash or redness of the skin or an allergic reaction may occur, which may be manifested by sudden swelling of the face and neck or by suddenly feeling unwell with a drop in blood pressure. You must stop treatment immediately, tell your doctor and never take medicines containing paracetamol again. Exceptionally, biological changes requiring a check of the blood test have been observed: disorders of the functioning of the liver, abnormally low level of certain white blood cells or of certain blood cells such as platelets which may result in nosebleeds or gums .
