Indications

Efferalgan 500 mg Red Fruit  granules in sachets is a medicine used as an analgesic and / or fever reducer. It is essential for fever and pain such as toothaches, body aches, painful periods, but also pain related to osteoarthritis. Easy to take, this medication is administered orally and does not require water. Vanilla-strawberry scented, it has a good taste. Each box contains 16 sachets.

Dosage

This Efferalgan contains 500 mg of paracetamol as an active substance. This packaging is reserved for adults and children over 27 kg (around 8 years old). If you do not know your child's weight, weigh your child and if he or she does not reach the indicated weight, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice on other generic versions of paracetamol.

The recommended dose is 60 mg / kg / day of paracetamol in 4 or 6 divided doses. You should therefore take 15 mg / kg / day every 6 hours or 10 mg / kg / day every 4 hours.

Please do not exceed the limit of 3 g of paracetamol per day, which makes 6 sachets of Efferalgan 500 mg granules. In case of severe pain, you can go up to 4 g with the approval of a doctor if you do not have the exceptional cases indicated in the precautions for use.

Precautions for use

In case of :

- Renal insufficiency

- Hepatocellular insufficiency

- Phenylketonuria

- Weight less than 50 kg

- Follow-up of treatment with drugs potentially toxic to the liver

- Dehydration problem

- Viral or acute hepatitis- Liver problem

- Drop

Follow-up of treatment with drugs which may contain paracetamol.

Taking paracetamol must be approved by your doctor. Your doctor will prescribe the doses and how often.

Indeed, the level of paracetamol in the blood can have effects on gout, urine, blood ... and can worsen your state of health if you are concerned by the above cases.

Contraindication

In case of :

- Taking medications containing paracetamol without a prescription,

- allergy to paracetamol,

- allergy linked to perfumes and dyes,

- serious kidney and / or liver problems,

- adoption of this drug should be avoided unless approved by the doctor.

Composition

granules (white or almost white to pale yellow powder) : Paracetamol 500 mg. Excipients: Butyl methacrylate basic copolymer, 30% polyacrylate dispersion, Hydrophobic colloidal silica, Mannitol (E 421), Crospovidone, Sodium benzoate (E 211), Sucralose (E955), Red fruit flavour (1), qsp 1 sachet. Notable excipients: one sachet contains 14 mg of sodium benzoate (E211) and traces of benzyl alcohol

Side effects

Usually, if you are not affected by the cases listed above, taking this medicine rarely causes side effects.

However, if your pain persists after 5 days of continuous treatment and your fever remains constant after 3 days, see your doctor promptly.

If you notice any other unusual problems like skin reactions, swelling in the face ... stop taking the remedy and contact a health care provider.

Occasional attacks of diarrhea, pain in the abdomen, excessive sweating ... can occur. These symptoms are temporary, but if they persist, see a doctor.
