Indication
The Doliprane 100mg suppository contains paracetamol. It is indicated in the event of pain and / or fever such as headaches, flu-like symptoms, dental pain, stiffness. This presentation is reserved for infants weighing 3 to 8 kg (approximately from birth to 9 months).
Dosage
The dosage of paracetamol depends on the weight of the child; ages are given for information. If you do not know the child's weight, it should be weighed to give the best dose. Paracetamol exists in many dosages, allowing the treatment to be adapted to the weight of each child. The recommended daily dose of paracetamol depends on the weight of the child: it is approximately 60 mg / kg / day, to be divided into 4 doses, or approximately 15 mg / kg every 6 hours. Because of the risk of rectal irritation, the administration of suppositories should be as short as possible, should not exceed 4 doses per day and should be replaced as soon as possible by oral treatment. In case of diarrhea, the suppository form is not suitable. For infants weighing 3 to 4 kg (approximately from birth to one month), the dosage is 50 mg, i.e. half a 100 mg suppository, to be renewed if necessary after 6 hours, without exceeding 4 half suppositories per day. For infants weighing 5 to 8 kg (approximately 2 to 9 months): the dosage is one 100 mg suppository, to be renewed if necessary after 6 hours, without exceeding 4 suppositories per day. Frequency of administration Systematic doses prevent oscillations of pain or fever. In children, they should be regularly spaced, including at night, preferably 6 hours and at least 4 hours.
