Dosage in adults and children from 50 kg (i.e. from about 15 years old)
The usual dosage is half to 1 tablet at 1000 mg per dose, to be renewed after 6 to 8 hours. If necessary, the setting can be repeated after at least 4 hours.
Dose of paracetamol never to be exceeded
In an adult or a child weighing more than 50 kg:
It is generally not necessary to exceed 3 grams of paracetamol per day (equivalent to 3 effervescent scored tablets per day).
However, if you have more severe pain, and only on the advice of your doctor, the total dose may be increased up to 4 grams of paracetamol per day (or 4 effervescent scored tablets per day).
NEVER TAKE MORE THAN 4 GRAMS OF PARACETAMOL PER DAY (taking into account all drugs containing paracetamol in their formula).

Precautions for use
Other medicines and DOLIPRANE 1000 mg, effervescent tablet
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
Do not take other medicines containing paracetamol. You risk an overdose.
If you are taking oral anticoagulant therapy (with warfarin or an antivitamin K (AVK)), taking DOLIPRANE 1000 mg, effervescent tablet at maximum doses (4 g / day) for more than 4 days requires close monitoring. biological examinations including in particular the INR. In this case, consult your doctor.
The effectiveness of paracetamol may be reduced if you take chelating resins at the same time - medicine which lowers the level of cholesterol in the blood (allow an interval of more than 2 hours between the 2 doses).
If you receive treatment with flucloxacillin (an antibiotic) at the same time as paracetamol, you may have metabolic acidosis (too acidic blood which causes increased respiratory rate).
The toxicity of paracetamol may be increased if you take:
Drugs potentially toxic to the liver,
Medicines which promote the production of the toxic metabolite of paracetamol such as anti-epileptic medicines (phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazepine, topiramate),
Rifampicin (an antibiotic)
· Alcohol at the same time.

The consumption of alcoholic beverages during treatment is not recommended.
Pregnancy and breast feeding
If needed, this medicine can be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding. You should use the lowest possible dose that will relieve pain and / or fever and take it for the shortest possible time. Contact your doctor or midwife if the pain and / or fever does not improve or if you need to take the medicine more frequently.
Fertility
It is possible that paracetamol can alter the fertility of women, reversibly on discontinuation of treatment.
