Description
When you become pregnant, your body begins to produce the pregnancy hormone, human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). The concentration of hCG in your body doubles every 2-3 days or so before peaking after 7-12 weeks of pregnancy. It remains higher than normal for the rest of the pregnancy and then for up to 3 weeks after the birth. The ElleTest pregnancy test detects the pregnancy hormone in your urine with more than 99% reliability when used from the expected date of your period. You can take the test up to 4 days before your expected period, but if you get the result "Not Pregnant", you should take a new test from your expected period. The pregnancy hormone level in your urine may not yet be high enough to be detected. The colour-changing control rod and the control window reassure you that the test is working properly. The result window clearly shows a (+) if you are pregnant and a (-) if you are not. Fast and easy to use: the ElleTest pregnancy test will give you a result in just 3 minutes.
Clearblue recommends that you take the test on your expected period. However, it is possible to use the ElleTest pregnancy test as early as 4 days before your expected period. Please note that if you take the test before your expected period and get the result "Not Pregnant", it is still possible that you are pregnant but that the hormone levels are still too low to be detected. If you test again after 3 days and get the result "Not Pregnant" and you still have not had your period, you should consult a doctor. In clinical trials of urine samples from women at an early stage of pregnancy, the ElleTest pregnancy test gave the following results: 56% of women who took the test 4 days before their expected period tested positive ("Pregnant" result), 88% of women 3 days before, 97% of women 2 days before and 98% of women 1 day before.
Advice on use
Please note that these are summary instructions. Make sure you read all the instructions in the pack before you carry out a test. When you are ready to take the new ElleTest pregnancy test, open the protective pouch, take out the test stick and remove the cap. You can perform the test directly under your urine stream or you can collect it in a clean, dry container. Hold the control stick down under your urine stream, or in the sample you have collected, for just 5 seconds. The control stick will quickly turn pink to indicate that urine absorption has begun, but it is important that you hold it in the urine for exactly 5 seconds. Keep the control stick pointing downwards or lay the test flat until the line appears in the control window. You can read the result after 3 minutes. If you are testing from the expected date of your period, you can test at any time of the day. If you perform the test before your expected period, use the first urine of the day. Avoid drinking large amounts of liquid before performing the test. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE TAKING THE TEST.
