Description
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance, a physiological constituent of connective tissue (particularly in the gingival mucosa) where it has an antioedematous and restorative action on the tissues, resulting from its macro-aggregating effect. This explains its anti-inflammatory effects. Hyaluronic acid deficiency prevents the tissues from: - restoring water balance (consequently increasing edema and pain) - activating the migration of fibriocytes responsible for tissue repair (healing is therefore delayed).
Inflammatory states (gingivitis, bleeding, gingival recession, gingival pockets) or traumatic states (in particular canker sores, small wounds, or due to wearing removable prostheses, wearing orthodontic appliances, cleaning, abrasion, dental extractions, post-surgical sequelae ), conditions where the oral mucosa requires an increase in hyaluronic acid.
