Indication

The drug Donormyl 15mg 10 effervescent tablets is recommended in occasional insomnia in adults. French law authorizes a drug delivery for 1 month, so this limits the number of boxes you can buy to 3 whatever the drug with doxylamine

Dosage

RESERVED FOR ADULTS.

The recommended dosage is ½ to 1 tablet per day for adults.

In adults, the dosage can be increased to 2 tablets per day if necessary.

In the elderly, renal or hepatic insufficiency, the lowest dosage is recommended.

Oral route.

Swallow the tablet with a little water.

One dose per day, in the evening, 15 to 30 minutes before bedtime.

Composition

The active substance is:

Doxylamine succinate ............................................... .................................................. . 15 mg

For a scored film-coated tablet.

The other ingredients are:

Lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, macrogol 6000, colorant dispersion (hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), propylene glycol (E1520), purified water).

Precautions for use

Insomnia can have a variety of causes that do not necessarily require medication.

This medication should be used with caution in the elderly, due to the risk of cognitive impairment, drowsiness, slow reactivity, and / or dizziness / lightheadedness which may promote falls (for example in case of waking up at night ), with often serious consequences in this population.

Doxylamine succinate, like any hypnotic or sedative, may worsen a pre-existing sleep apnea syndrome (breathing pauses during sleep).

Pregnancy and breast feeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

This medication, under normal conditions of use, can be used during pregnancy. However, you should always seek the advice of your doctor before using it and never exceed the recommended dose.

It is possible that this medicine can pass into breast milk. Given its sedative or on the contrary exciting properties which could affect your child (lethargy, decreased tone, or on the contrary insomnia), this medication is not recommended in case of breastfeeding.
