Indication
This medication is recommended for occasional insomnia in adults. Attention limited to 3 boxes of doxylamine per month (whatever the brand).
Dosage
RESERVED FOR ADULTS.
The recommended dose is ½ to 1 tablet per day for adults.
In adults, the dosage can be increased to 2 tablets per day if necessary.
In the elderly, renal or hepatic insufficiency, the lowest dosage is recommended.
Oral route.
Swallow the tablet with some water.
One dose per day, in the evening, 15 to 30 minutes before bedtime.
Composition
The active substance is:
Doxylamine hydrogen succinate ............................................... .............................. 15.00 mg
For a scored film-coated tablet.
The other ingredients are:
Core : Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate.
Film coating : Hypromellose (E464), talc, titanium dioxide (E171), macrogol 6000, propylene glycol.
Precautions for use
The duration of treatment should not exceed 5 days. Look out for any signs of abuse or addiction to this treatment. If you have disorders related to substance use (alcohol, medication or other), taking DOXYLAMINE BIOGARAN CONSEIL is not recommended.
Alcohol intake is strictly discouraged during the treatment.
Notify your doctor in case of pregnancy.
In the event of long-term disease of the liver or kidneys, CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR so that he can adjust the dosage.
Pregnancy and breast feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Pregnancy
This medication, under normal conditions of use, can be used during pregnancy. However, you should always seek the advice of your doctor before using it and never exceed the recommended dose.
Feeding with milk
It is possible that this medicine can pass into breast milk. Given its sedative or on the contrary exciting properties which could affect your child (lethargy, decreased tone, or on the contrary insomnia), this medication is not recommended in case of breastfeeding.
