Description
Yellow to greenish in color, it is characterized by a subtle and very light fragrance. With a clear liquid appearance, its feel is neither dry nor greasy, which makes it very comfortable.
Native to China and Europe, Evening Primrose flowers, also called Oenothera biennis in Latin, are cultivated in many countries, including Europe for the production of Puressentiel. Its pretty yellow spike flowers bloom in the evening and close in the morning, hence its English name “evening primrose”. Flowering lasts only 24 hours and subsequently turns into seed-rich pods. Harvesting is complex because it is only done when the seeds are ripe and the latter do not all ripen at the same time.
Additionally, if the seeds are overripe, their vegetable oil content decreases.
