Description
It is indicated for the local treatment of mycoses (conditions caused by microscopic fungi) of the vulva and vagina, which are sometimes superinfected.
Directions for use
In most cases, 1 ovule preferably in the evening at bedtime, as a single administration.
In some cases, your doctor may prescribe one ovule in the evening and one ovule the following morning.
In all cases, follow the recommendations of your doctor or pharmacist.
Method of administration
Vaginally.
Insert the ovum deeply into the vagina, preferably in a lying position. The easiest way to do this is to lie on your back with your knees bent and apart.
Contraindication
Never use ECONAZOLE ZYDUS L.P. 150 mg, sustained-release ovule in the following cases:
Allergy to any of the components of the product (see What does ECONAZOLE ZYDUS L.P. 150 mg, sustained-release ovule contain?) or to a related substance (belonging to the imidazole group),
Use with a latex diaphragm

Local treatment of the mycosis is only part of the overall treatment. To avoid relapses, it is essential that your doctor looks for factors which may contribute to a relapse.
Do not use acidic soap for local hygiene, as acidity encourages the proliferation of fungi (see Instructions for use).
This treatment may cause local burning sensations and increased itching. These phenomena generally subside spontaneously with continued treatment. If symptoms persist for more than 24 to 48 hours, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor.
