Therapeutic Indications: This medication is a laxative stimulant (it stimulates intestinal evacuation). It is for occasional constipation. Contraindications: Do not take FRUCTINES WITH SODIUM PICOSULPHATE 5mg tablet in the following cases: - intestine or colon illnesses - abdominal pain (stomach pain) - chronic constipation (long-term) - for a child under 12 years of age. IF IN DOUBT IT IS ADVISABLE TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST FOR ADVICE. Cautions: NOT FOR LONG-TERM USE WITHOUT MEDICAL ADVICE: do not exceed 8-10 days of treatment. - Occasional Constipation: It can be linked to a recent change in lifestyle (travelling). Short-term use only. All unexplained recent constipation by a change in lifestyle, any pain, fever, swelling of the stomach: consult your doctor. *Chronic constipation (long-term). Should not be treated by a laxative stimulant. Can be linked to 2 causes: - intestine illness - an imbalance of the intestine function due to food habits or lifestyle. Treatment includes: - increase in foods with vegetable origin (green vegetables, crudities, bread, fruit...), - increase in water and fruit juice consumption, - increase in physical activity (sport, walking...), - defecation reflex, - additive to food. Consult your doctor or pharmacist. Precautions for use: This drug contains a yellow-orange S dye agent (E110) and can cause allergic reactions. This drug contains saccharose. This medication is not recommended for patients with a fructose intolerance, glucose/galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase/isomaltase deficiency. This medication can lead to a loss in potassium. Combined with other medication (such as other diuretics or heart medication) can be dangerous. Pregnancy and breast feeding: Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any drugs. In the absence of data in humans, it is preferable, as a precaution not to use SODIUM PICOSULFATE FRUCTINES, during pregnancy. Due to the lack of data of knowing if it passes into human milk, it is not recommended to use this medication during breast feeding. Dosage: Adults: 1 tablet (2 if necessary) to suck or chew before going to bed or in the morning. Short-term treatment only (8-10 days). If the effect of the treatment is insufficient, do not increase the dose or prolong the use but ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice. YOU MUST COMPLY WITH THE PRESCRIPTION GIVEN FROM YOUR DOCTOR. Symptoms and instructions in case of overdose: Possible overdose may lead to severe diarrhoea with electrolyte loss and hypokalaemia..
