Description

URGOCLEAN is an absorbent hydrodetersive dressing which comes in the form of a sterile, non-woven compress, made up of hydrodetersive fibers (polyacrylate) with a high level of absorption and cohesion, coated with a microadherent lipidocolloid matrix. URGOCLEAN is indicated from the cleansing phase: - chronic exuding wounds: - leg ulcers, - decubitus bedsores, - diabetic foot ulcerations including perforating plantar disease; - potentially fibrinous wounds such as: - acute wounds: burns, dermabrasions, traumatic wounds, - postoperative wounds, - and oncological wounds. URGOCLEAN wick is also an absorbent hydrodetersive dressing which comes in the form of a sterile, non-woven wick, made up of hydrodetersive fibers (polyacrylate) with a high level of absorption and cohesion. It is indicated from the cleansing phase of exuding cavitary and anfractuous wounds: chronic: leg ulcers, decubitus ulcers, diabetic foot wounds including perforating plantar disease, acute: traumatic, postoperative and oncological wounds.

Mechanism of action

On contact with exudates, the lipidocolloid particles of URGOCLEAN gel, creating a moist environment favorable to cleansing. Concomitantly, the hydrodetersive polyacrylate fibers gel and attach themselves to the fibrinous residues, absorb them and drain them in order to facilitate their elimination (autolytic debridement). The fixation and drainage of fibrinous residues promote the cleansing phase of fibrinous wounds.

In practice The wound must be cleaned according to the usual care protocol and rinsed with physiological saline. The use of URGOCLEAN and URGOCLEAN wick does not dispense with associated mechanical cleansing when necessary.
