Special warnings In cases of phlegm-like and purulent expectoration, fever or chronic bronchial and lung disease, therapeutic treatment should be re-evaluated. Productive coughs (which are a fundamental element to broncho-pulmonary defence) must be respected. The combination of bronchial muco-modulators and antitussives and/or substances that dry out secretions (atropinic) is not advisable. Helicidine may induce blockage in the bronchus for newborns. Its ability to drain bronchial mucus is limited due to the physiological characteristics of its respiratory tree. Newborns should therefore not take this medication (see sections 4.3 & 4.8). If symptoms persist or worsen, the treatment should be reassessed. Contraindications · Previous allergic reaction to one of its components (methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl sodium and other parahydroxybenzoate salts). · Newborn (under 2 years of age), Interactions with other drugs The current data available does not suggest any clinical interactions.
