The smell of tarragon essential oil is known to be strong. Coming from Central Asia, tarragon, a perennial and bushy plant, is difficult to cultivate. It is present in France, especially in Provence, where the production of essential oil is primarily intended for perfumery.

Main properties
Tarragon acts on the digestive system: it is both tonic (and opens the appetite), antispasmodic and effective against digestive disorders (colitis, aerophagia). It also works on respiratory allergies, rheumatic pain, menstruation pain, neuritis and polyneuritis, various cramps and spasms (including hiccups).

How to use
Allergies : Swallow 2 drops of tarragon in a teaspoon of olive oil or honey 4 times per day. Apply 5 drops of tarragon mixed with 5 drops of sweet almond vegetable oil and massage on the thorax, plexus solaire, spine (if asthmatic), temples and the side of the nostrils (in case of hay fever). Repeat this 2-3 times per day.
Pollen allergies : Diffusion: 15 drops of tarragon EO + 15 drops of matricaria camomile EO + 15 drops of mountain pine EO. Diffuse in the bedroom 1 hour before going to bed.
Hay fever : Inhale 3 or 4 drops of tarragon put on a tissue and inhale deeply.
Digestive problems (all) : Swallow 1 or 2 drops put directly under the tongue or in a teaspoon of olive oil after a meal. Apply 10 drops mixed with 10 drops of vegetable oil (preferably hazelnut) and massage onto the abdomen.
Hiccups : 1 pure drop under the tongue, repeat this 5 minutes later if the hiccups have not disappeared.
Other very good uses
Rheumatism pains Period Pains Apply 2 drops of tarragon mixed with 2 drops of hazelnut vegetable oil and massage onto the abdomen (ovary area) or on the painful joint against rheumatism pain. Repeat this 2 or 3 times per day until symptoms improve.
Other use : A person who hyperventilates will appreciate the anti-spasmodic properties - place 2 drops directly under the tongue morning and night.
Contraindication
Like all essential oils the tarragon oil is not allowed during the first 3 months of pregnancy. It is also not to be used during breast feeding.
