The pink flowers of this small perennial plant are grouped underneath the leaves and are enclosed in a bramble in the shape of a shell, hence its name. Its exhilarating aroma makes it ideal for any cuisine.
Use
Diffusion +++, Bath +++, Massage +++, Orally +++
Ambient setting: on its own or in a mixture by regular low heat evaporation.
Atmospheric diffusion: in a mixture from a diffuser by spraying.
Dermal application: diluting, 5-30% in vegetable oil.
Orally: diluted with some vegetable oil - only after medical agreement. 1 drop twice a day.
Dry inhalation: 1-2 drops on a tissue.
Wet inhalation: 2 drops in bowl of boiling water.
Practical advice
Nervous tiredness : The marjoram essential oil helps to rebuild the physical and physiological tonus especially in cases of stress or being overworked. De-stress and relaxing mixture (adults): in a 30ml vial, 30 drops of marjoram EO + 30 drops of ylang ylang + 30 drops of lavender EO combined with Macadamia vegetable oil. Apply onto the wrists or sole of the feet in the evening before going to bed.
To boost morale : Make your own scented oil: in a bottle of Argan oil, add marjoram, bitter orange and ylang ylang essential oils, without exceeding 5% in total (approximately 62 drops in a 50ml bottle). Rub onto the wrists in the morning to inhale throughout the day.
Orally-Cystitis: 10 drops of marjoram EO + +10 drops of niaouli EO + 10 drops of tea-tree EO + 10 drops of cinnamon peel EO. Take 2 drops of the mixture on a neutral tablet, 3-4 times per day for 5 days.
Contraindication
Not recommended for pregnant or breast feeding women or children under 8 years of age.
