Indication This drug is for stomach and oesophagus pains, burning or heartburn. How to take this drug Orally. Shake the sachet before opening it. The contents of the sachet can be swallowed pure or diluted into half a glass of water. Dosage 1 sachet when pain appears. Composition of the drug Active ingredients: Monmectite: 2.500 g Aluminium hydroxide (AI2O3): 0.425 g Magnesium hydroxide MgO): 0.450 g Per sachet. Other ingredients: Saccharose, 70% crystallised sorbitol, flavouring, alcohol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), menthol, purified water. Format This drug is in powder form for oral solution in a sachet. Box of 30. Precautions for use The antacids can decrease the effect of several other drugs. You must tell your doctor or pharmacist of any other treatment. For precaution purposes it is not recommended to take other medication at the same time as the antacid. Any other medication should be taken at a different time (for example 2 hours before). Inform your doctor of any renal dialysis. Special warnings This medication is not recommended for patients with a fructose intolerance, glucose/galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase/isomaltase deficiency (rare hereditary illness). This drug contains 5 g of saccharose per unidose. Be aware of the daily dose in the event of a low sugar diet or diabetes. This drug contains Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218)and Propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), and can cause allergic reactions. This drug is not recommended for patients with a fructose intolerance (rare hereditary illness). This medication contains 2.4 % V/V of ethanol (alcohol); so 230 mg of ethanol per sachet which is equivalent to 7.2 ml of beer or 3ml of wine per sachet. The use of this drug is dangerous for alcoholics, and should be taken into account for pregnant or breast feeding women, children and high-risk groups such as those with liver impairment and epilepsy. If you have taken this medication without a prescription and symptoms persist for more than 7 days, consult your doctor. Contraindications Do not take GELOX drinkable solution: - if you are allergic to monmectite, aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide or one of the other ingredients in the Gelox sachet. - if you suffer from severe kidney failure. - if you suffer from stenosis in the digestive tube. Pregnancy and breast feeding This can be prescribed during pregnancy and breast feeding if needed. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any drugs. Side effects Like all medication, GELOX sachet can cause side effects but will not affect everyone: in case of prolonged use or high doses of Gelox there could be a decrease in the level of phosphor in the blood.
