Product Description Moxydar antacid, by Grimberg Laboratories, can be used to relieve pain and discomfort associated with digestive problems, as well as treat symptoms of acid reflux. Directions for Use For oral administration. Dissolve tablet in water to create the solution. Dosage * To relieve discomfort associated with oesophageal, gastric and duodenal (digestive) problems: 1 dissolved tablet, taken at the onset of symptoms and repeated if necessary. Do not take more than 4 tablets a day. * To treat symptoms of gastro-oesophageal (acid) reflux: – Intensive Treatment: 1 dissolved tablet, taken after each of the 3 daily main meals, plus 1 additional tablet per day if discomfort persists. Use for 4 to 6 weeks. – Maintenance Treatment: 1 dissolved tablet, taken at the onset of symptoms. Ingredients Hydrated aluminium oxide: 0.500 g Magnesium hydroxide: 0.500 g Aluminium phosphate: 0.300 g Guar gum: 0.200 g Precautions for Use – Keep out of reach of children. – Contains aluminium. Due to risk of encephalopathy, use with caution if you have kidney problems or are on chronic dialysis. Contra-indications – Do NOT use if you have severe kidney dysfunction or kidney failure (medicine contains magnesium). – Do NOT use if you are allergic to any of this medicine's ingredients. – If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Pregnancy and Breast-Feeding* No reliable data exists concerning the possibility of teratogenesis in animals. * Currently, there is very little data with which to evaluate the possible malformative or foetotoxic effect of aluminium or magnesium hydroxides on pregnant women. * Women who are pregnant should use this medicine only when necessary. * This medicine contains aluminium and magnesium ions, which may have an impact on digestion: – Aluminium salts may aggravate constipation during pregnancy. – Magnesium salts, meanwhile, may trigger diarrhoea. * Try to limit your daily dose and, if possible, use this medicine for a brief period only.
