Description
This medication contains paracetamol: an analgesic (soothe the pain), an antipyretic (lower fever). It is indicated in case of pain and or fever such as headaches, flu-like symptoms, dental pain, muscle stiffness. This presentation is reserved for children weighing between 13 to 50 kg. For children with different weight, there are other presentations of paracetamol.
Composition
The active substance is: paracetamol. Each sachet contains 250 mg of paracetamol.
The other ingredients are: Butyl methacrylate basic copolymer, 30% polyacrylate dispersion, colloidal hydrophobic silica, mannitol (granulate, powder), crospovidone, aspartame (E951), banana flavor, magnesium stearate.
Indication
Symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and / or feverish conditions.
This presentation is FOR CHILDREN weighing 13 to 50 kg (approximately 2 to 15 years old).
Dosage
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if in doubt. The maximum daily dose of paracetamol is 60 milligrams (mg) per kilo (kg) per day, divided into 4 or 6 doses, i.e. 15 mg per kg every 6 hours or 10 mg per kg every 4 hours.
EFFERALGAN 250 mg, dispersible tablets IS RESERVED FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS weighing between 14 and 50 kg (approximately 2 to 12 years).
In children, it is imperative to respect the dosages defined according to the weight of the child and therefore to choose a suitable presentation. The approximate ages by weight are only indicative.
In children, the total dose of paracetamol should not exceed 60 mg per kg per day. Oral use only. Please take the granules directly into the mouth, on the tongue, and then swallow them without water.
Contraindication
Severe hepatocellular insufficiency or active decompensated liver disease
Pregnancy
Studies in animals have not produced any evidence of teratogenic or foetotoxic effects of paracetamol.
A large amount of data from pregnant women demonstrate the absence of any malformation or fetal / neonatal toxicity. Epidemiological studies devoted to the neurodevelopment of children exposed to paracetamol in utero produce inconclusive results. If clinically necessary, paracetamol can be used during pregnancy; however, it should be used at the lowest effective dose, for the shortest possible time and at the lowest possible frequency.
Feeding with milk
Paracetamol is excreted in small amounts in breast milk following oral administration. Skin rash has been reported in breast-fed infants.
At therapeutic doses, administration of this drug is possible during breast-feeding.
