Indication This drug is a D vitamin, it is for the treatment and/or prevention of vitamin D deficiency. Contraindications Do not take this medication in the case of: - allergy to vitamin D or one of its constituents - hypercalcemia (excess calcium in the blood), hypercalciuria (excess calcium in the urine), kidney stones Overdose To avoid any overdose, take into account the total amount of vitamin D or other treatment containing vitamin D. Signs of an overdose: - headaches, tiredness, loss of appetite, weight loss, slow down in growth - nausea, vomiting - abundant urine, intense thirst, dehydration - kidney stones, tissue calcification in particular in the kidney and vessels - renal insufficiency. Biological signs of an overdose: - increase in the level of calcium and phosphor in the blood and urine. In case of an overdose: stop treatment and drink a lot, limit calcium intake (dairy products) and consult your doctor. How to use Orally. This drop-counter bottle comes with a security lid. Press firmly down on the lid, unscrew the lid whilst still pressing down. Turn the bottle completely and drop the solution onto a teaspoon without shaking the bottle. Swallow ZymaD in its pure state making sure nothing is left on the spoon. ZymaD can also be taken on a spoon with other liquid-type foods (porridge, compote, purées or liquid (fruit juice)). Do not heat or boil or put it in food that is too hot. It is recommended to not put ZymaD in a baby’s bottle of water or milk as the product could stick to the sides. Do not pour the drop directly into the child’s mouth. Dosage *Vitamin deficiency for children: - Prevention: It is recommended for use in all infants and young children under current conditions in the event of insufficient sun exposure due to the low vitamin D content of foods. - Premature: 4-5 drops per day. - 0-24 months: *With milk enriched with vitamin D: 2-3 drops per day *Without milk enriched with vitamin D: 4-5 drops per day *Pigmented skin: 8 drops per day - Children & Adolescents: *Without digestive pathology 2-3 drops per day *With digestive pathology 2-6 drops per day *Anti-convulsion treatment 5-6 drops per day - Treatment: 7-13 drops per day for 4-6 months or 14-26 drops during 1-2 months *vitamin deficiency for pregnant women: - Prevention: 3 drops per day from the 6th/7th month *vitamin deficiency for adults/elderly: - Prevention: 2-3 drops per day - Treatment: 7-66 drops per day. Side effects Like all drugs this drinkable solution can cause side effects (this will not affect everyone): - skin and tissue discomforts: pruritis, spots, erythema, oedema. Pregnancy and breast feeding Pregnancy: Vitamin D can be prescribed during pregnancy. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any drugs.
